I am a ceramic sculptor who lives and works from my studio in Clareville on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

I first discovered my love for clay over 20 years ago. I am largely self-taught and enjoy experimenting with natural materials and developing my own slips, oxide glazes and terra sigilata.

My forms are constructed from thick coils which are then pinched out to thinner walls. The dimpled surface of many of my pieces are a result of that process. Most of my works ‘grow’ slowly over a period of up to a week, a process that allows the clay to stiffen before the next coil is added. Once dry, each piece undergoes multiple firings to achieve the desired finish.

I find endless inspiration in my natural surroundings - the coastline of Pittwater, the ever-changing mood of the ocean, tree bark, rocks, shells…

With my work I aim to convey a sense of stillness and contemplation, a pause from fast-paced life.
